The governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, harshly criticized President Javier Milei for promoting the $Libra currency, which caused million-dollar losses and generated a collapse in a 4 trillion dollar market. Quintela described this episode as an unprecedented breach of trust and pointed out the need to take legal action regarding it.
In his statements, Quintela referenced a phrase from a libertarian and his Cabinet, emphasizing the importance of craft in governmental management. He also highlighted the responsibility that comes with governing, mentioning that those who make mistakes must face the consequences.
The governor emphasized the success of the Debt Cancellation Bond (BOCADE) issued in his province, stating that it maintained its value for six months due to the trust of the population. In contrast, Quintela accused Milei of scamming thousands of people around the world with the promotion of the $Libra currency.
In light of this situation, Quintela reiterated the opposition's demand for a political trial and a criminal complaint for aggravated fraud against Milei. In this regard, he highlighted the importance of trust in public management and condemned actions that generate financial instability and losses for the population.
